By accessing or using Squad Mode at squadmode.games ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Squad Mode is a real-time multiplayer quiz game platform. Users can:

• Host games: Create game rooms, select game types, and manage sessions
• Join as players: Enter room codes to participate in games without requiring an account

3. User Accounts

Host accounts: To create and host games, you need to register with your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

Players: No account is required to join and play games. Players only need to enter a display name and room code.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Use offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate display names
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated systems or bots to access the Service
• Attempt to manipulate game scores or outcomes

5. Host Responsibilities

As a host, you are responsible for:

• Moderating your game rooms and removing inappropriate players
• Ensuring custom questions comply with our content guidelines
• Not sharing room codes publicly if you want controlled access

6. Room Codes and Access

Free rooms: Room codes are randomly assigned and expire 5 minutes after the host disconnects.

Pro/Enterprise rooms: Custom room codes may be reserved based on your subscription plan. Reserved codes remain exclusive to your account for the reservation period.

7. Pricing and Payments

Free tier: Basic features are available at no cost with limitations (4 players max).

Paid plans: Pro and Enterprise subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Prices may change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Refunds: Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Refunds are provided on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of initial purchase.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Squad Mode and protected by intellectual property laws.

User content: You retain ownership of custom questions you create. By submitting content, you grant us a license to use it for providing the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Squad Mode shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

You may delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting support.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the country where the Service operator is established.
